Mubarak Marine is pleased to announce that the Overall Management Committee of IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association) has approved the induction of Mubarak Marine in its Middle East and India Section with participation in the Marine Division as a world-wide Contractor Member. Mubarak Marine has been operating in the offshore support industry for more than three decades, operating a diverse fleet of marine and offshore support vessels (barges, tugs, LCT). IMCA is the international trade association representing offshore, marine and underwater engineering companies. The IMCA membership will allow us to embrace the IMCA competence framework to complement our existing in house competence scheme to demonstrate competence in safety-critical positions – something very vital for the offshore industry. The participation will enable us to better fulfill the ever growing demands and requirements of our clients.

Mubarak Marine has signed a long-term partnership agreement with Dubai Maritime City to develop an industrial complex for maritime services, shipbuilding and repair worth $35m.

The complex will enable Mubarak Marine to establish their headquarters as well as a workshop and maintenance facility. The project area, located within the Marine District of DMC covers a total of 106 hectares of pre-built industrial space, ship repair and building plots, yacht repair and manufacturing plots, retail units, offices and shipyard facilities.

“We are delighted that a well-known company such as Mubarak Marine has chosen decided to further their operations from the city, this will definitely fuel the growth of the repair and maintenance sector and also direct attention to the important role played by the city in facilitating maritime activity both regionally and globally,” said Khamis Juma Buamim, chairman of Drydocks World and Maritime World.

Mubarak Marine was in full attendance to year 2014 Marine Ball. The evening saw a special highlight on the salvage industry aptly named as the ‘Saviors of the Sea’ as appearing on the invitation cards of this truly grand gathering. Capt.Vivek Bali of Mubarak Marine shared his personal experiences of the number of ships salvaged by him. The guests were in awe of the destructive power of the sea and the great risks to life and property, and the challenges that were involved in saving them by Mubarak Marine’s salvage team led by Capt.Bali.The much awaited Maritime auction and Whiteboard bidding saw Mubarak Marine in action having won the coveted large sized model of the passenger ship Titanic. The proceeds of the auction will go to The Mission to Seafarers. Piracy, shipwreck, abandonment and separation from loved ones are just a few of the problems merchant seafarers face around the world. The Mission to Seafarers provides help and support to the 1.5 million men and women who face danger every day to keep our global economy afloat. The mission was founded in 1856 and is entirely funded by voluntary donations.

Mubarak Marine has become a full member of the International Salvage Union (ISU) with unanimous election by the current membership of the Union and also makes it the first ISU member from the Middle East.

Mubarak Marine is once again proud to be sponsoring the 2nd Mare Forum Dubai 2015 – The “Dubai Global Summit of Marine and Maritime Leaders” to be held on Wednesday January 21st 2015 at The Meydan Hotel in Dubai, UAE.

The 2nd Mare Forum Dubai – Global leaders maritime summit – will bring together leaders of both the regional and international marine, maritime, shipping, commodities, banking, energy and services industries and will be the second of a series of international forums in Dubai with the focus on the world-wide attention to the growing importance and emerging stature of Dubai & the region within industry circles. This Mare Forum event will be the second of its kind in the Middle East, Indian sub-continent and Africa.

The summit will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The royal patronage accorded to this event accentuates the importance of the growth of the Maritime and Shipping sector in Dubai and its growing recognition as a global maritime centre.
